IMM 2009 – Mini 50, Longbridge.

Went to this over the weekend. A fantastic, very big show, hot sunny weather for the whole 3 days (apparently was 25 degrees C on the Sunday), great atmosphere, People and cars from all over the place! furthest I remember seeing was New Zealand!

We got a free goody bag included with the ticket price, it had:

  • A MiniSport catalogue
  • A t shirt
  • A sticker
  • A grille plaque
  • Vouchers for a free evening meal and a breakfast
  • few other bits and pieces.

Not bad really when entry for the weekend was £55… and also included entry into the sound-off competitions, club games, unofficial concourse, loudest exhaust, Glow show, entry into the Party tents disco/live acts (Including Roy Wood) and the chance to see Russ Swift chuck about a Classic Mini, New Mini and his Mitsubishi Evo!

Plenty of bargains about the place! Ace Cafe was holding a charity auction and because of the fact it was being held the same time as the exhaust comp there was a low turn out and as a result bargain prices! (limited edition gold engraved mini 50 MiniSport 4pot caliper kit including braided hoses, pads, and vented/drilled discs came out at £270ish!!!!)

Also as you would expect there were some gems hidden in the auto-jumbles. I got a center binnacle with the speedo, temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, and all the wiring (including multi-pug) but missing two or three bulbs for £25! also got an early aftermarket tuning fan with 4blades that adjust themselves depending on the speed of the engine for £3!!! (needs a clean up though).

All in all a fantastic show! I’m burnt to a crisp, my legs still ache from all of the walking (really, this place was huge!), Ive got yet more Mini bits in my bedroom… But… I’m still considering going to the next one that is being held in Bavaria in the south of Germany (just off the Autobahn)

I survived the IMM2009.
